Roopak Taal

Roopak taal is a unique and popular taal used in all kinds of Hindustani music.

Structure

Roopak taal is singular in that it starts with khali, instead of tali. It is asymmetrical and has seven matras. There are three vibhags in roopak taal. The first contains three matras, while the second and third contain two matras each. There are two talis and one khali in roopak taal.
