Welcome to the Nepal Dance School Wiki, a compendium of both common and hard-to-find knowledge about Indian and Nepali dance and music.
We're aiming to organize and share information about fascinating and complex types of dance and musical instruments, such as Kathak and the tabla. In many cases, this information is often kept secret by gurus and performers and is only passed along orally to future generations.
We don't agree with this system, for several reasons. First, this kind of knowledge can easily disappear over time. Second, the quality and organization of this information is very inconsistent. And third, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about the beauty of these arts and attempt to learn them themselves.
