Welcome to the Nepal Dance School Wiki, a compendium of both common and hard-to-find knowledge about Indian and Nepali dance and music.
We're aiming to organize and share information about fascinating and complex types of dance and musical instruments, such as Kathak and the tabla. In many cases, this information is closely guarded and is usually passed on only through the direct connection between guru and shishya (student).
We believe that this system has several flaws. First, this kind of knowledge can easily disappear over time. Second, the quality and organization of this information is very inconsistent. And third, we think that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about the beauty of these arts.
Please note that this wiki is in its infancy and very much a work in progress. Also, this wiki is not meant to be a fully comprehensive resource, but rather a supplemental one.
If you're on a phone or tablet and aren't being shown the mobile view, you can switch to the mobile view using the link at the bottom of the page.
