Hamsasya, according to legend, was derived from Dakshinamurti explaining the intricacies of the Tattva system.

Application

Hamsasya mudra is one of the twenty-eight single hand mudras used by performing artists to interpret and emotional and/or physical state.

Like many other mudras, Hamsasya has additional usages, including:

  • carrying a garland
  • accomplishment of a task
  • speaking
  • singing
  • meditation
