It’s been pretty quiet here on our blog these past few weeks. The reason? We’ve been hard at work on one of those exciting projects we told you about earlier.
A number of years ago, when Nepal Dance School was just getting started, we also ran another company called Sangrila Nepal, through which we sold hundreds of fabulous Himalayan handmade items. We visited jewelry and gemstone shows and cultural festivals, but despite the rave reviews our original Nepali and Tibetan jewelry and clothing and handicraft designs received, we simply didn’t have the right exposure to get Sangrila Nepal off the ground floor.
Eventually, we decided to close the company and focus all our efforts on Nepal Dance School, hoping that we would be able to “reincarnate” SN in some way in the future.
Well, as it turns out, these days Etsy is a pretty popular destination on the Internet for amazing handmade designs like ours. So, as you might have guessed, we decided to open up a shop called Yak Yak Yak Nepal. Looks like all those designs we continued to doodle on Evernote and Post-It notes over the years weren’t wasted after all! It’s been a long labor of love and a huge undertaking, and we are thrilled to finally be able to tell you about it. Our arms and hands are thankful, too — cleaning hundreds of pieces of sterling silver jewelry can make them just a bit tired (trust us…we know from first-hand experience)!
We still have an insane number of items to add to our catalog listings on Etsy, but we’ll be launching today with our sterling silver ring collection. Stay posted for our pendants, cuffs, earrings, bags, and more in the coming weeks and months ahead. We’ll also be featuring a sampling of our newest creations on Google+ and on Twitter.
But enough talk — what are you waiting for? Check out Yak Yak Yak Nepal, tell your friends and family about it, and let us know what you think!
